What we collect

Browsing the site requires no account. If you join the conversation we collect: your email address (used to sign you in and to send reply notifications), the display name you choose, and the content you create: posts, replies, votes, and reports, with their timestamps. Posts, replies, votes, and your display name are public; your email address is not.

How it is used

To operate the site: signing you in, showing your posts, ranking by votes, emailing you when someone replies to you, and reviewing reported content. We do not sell personal information and we do not run advertising.

Analytics and cookies

We use Google Analytics to understand aggregate site usage (pages visited, rough geography, device type). It sets cookies for that measurement; we use it for statistics only, not advertising. Signing in stores an authentication token in your browser's local storage so you stay signed in; it is removed when you sign out.

Who processes data for us

Supabase hosts the database and sign-in service. Postmark delivers sign-in and notification emails. Google provides analytics. Each processes data only to provide its service to us.

Your choices

Delete any of your posts with the Delete link on the post. To delete your account and its data, or to ask what we hold about you, email hello@canadapivot.com from your sign-in address. Reply notifications currently accompany membership; we will add a setting to turn them off, and until then we will disable them on request.
